IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Donald N. Wardle, 77 of Idaho Falls passed away May 15, 2010 at his home. He was under the care of his granddaughter, Tara Fortner.
Don was born November 19, 1932, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, to Sheldon Nephi Wardle and Florence Woolsey Wardle. He grew up in the Ririe area and attended Ririe High School. He served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War.
On April 18, 1957 he married Velma Windsor in Reno, Nevada. Don worked as a delivery man for V1 Propane from which he retired, and then ran the B-Line Gas Station. He also owned Wardle’s Insulation.
Don enjoyed fishing, snow-machining, boating, camping, and skiing.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Tamara Levonne Tanner, Longmont, CO
Sister: Shirley Ann Kinghorn, Idaho Falls, ID
5 Grandchildren: Karen Pattee, Tara Fortner, Melissa Pattee, John Pattee, and Megan Burnside
5 Great Grandchildren: Bailie Bramwell, Paige Balster, Kennedy Balster, Makayla Pattee, and Morgan Stromberg.
He was preceded in death by his wife Velma; his daughter, Vickie Lyn Ker; his niece Robin Lee; and his nephew Lance S. Miller.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior. Following the services, military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Memorial Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
