Donald Samples

Donald Lee Samples, Jr., 59, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away August 8, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Don, the oldest of four children, was born March 5, 1954, in Oakland, California, to Donald Lee Samples, Sr. and Charlene Larae Higby Samples. Don grew up and attended schools in California, graduating from Woodland High School. He was married and his son, David, was born September 18, 1973, in Woodland, California. He later divorced and moved to Ashton, Idaho, and raised his son there. He attended classes at Eastern Idaho Technical College and Idaho State University, studying business. Don met Deanne Suitter and they were married March 19, 1994, in Shelley, Idaho. To this union was born a daughter, Rachel, May 9, 1995. They later moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he was living at the time of his death. Throughout the years, Don worked at several companies doing maintenance work and management. Don enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, mechanics, and his beloved pets. Prior to his death, he was able to take a trip with his children and brother to California to visit his sisters and other family and friends. He is survived by Wife, Deanne Suitter Samples of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, David (Jayme) Samples of Ashton, ID; Daughter, Rachel Samples of Idaho Falls, ID; Stepson, Jared Suitter of Boise, ID; Brother, Dennis Samples of Eureka, KS; Sister, Cheryl (Jake) Jacobson of Manteca, CA; Sister, Carene (Monte) Brandrup of Manteca, CA Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents, Donald Sr. and Charlene Samples, and his grandparents. Don’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Adams and the staff at Teton Cancer Institute, as well as Dr. Krell and the staff at the Intensive Care Unit at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, for the care they gave Don and his family. Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at the Ammon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wood Funeral Home, P. O.
