DONALD A. ROWBERRY
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Donald A Rowberry, 87,passed away August
23, 2000, in Surrey, B.C., Canada of natural causes.
Don was born April 22, 1916 in Iona, Idaho to Harold E.
and Della Armstrong Rowberry. Raised in Idaho Falls, he enjoyed many interests,
including sports and playing saxophone in a dance band.
He served a two-year mission in the southern states, and
then served in the Coast Guard and Navy during WWII.
His professional career began with Sonotone Hearing Aids
in Southern California. He was a top salesman with Home Life Insurance Co.
in San Jose. In 1964, he moved to Vancouver, where he co-founded B. C. Life
and Casualty.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints. He was the first Bishop of the Saratoga Ward in California,
and in 1991, he and his wife Helen, served a Russian-speaking mission in
New Foundland.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Surrey, B. C., and
his children Jon (Larraine), Alan (Patti), Robert (Joyce), Mark (Jacquelyn),
Michelle, and Lisa (Craig) Bresett, as well as twenty-four grandchildren,
four great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold (Rita) Rowberry, sisters, Beth
(Keith) Olsen, and Kara (Gary) Haddock; sisters-in-law, Artell (John) Dalling,
and Vonda Rowberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers,
one sister, one grandchild, and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., September
6, 2003, at Wood Chapel of the Pines in Idaho Falls. The family will visit
with friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Iona Cemetery. A funeral service
was also held earlier in the week in Surrey, British Columbia.
