DON MAYFIELD
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Donald Claude Mayfield, 84, of Idaho Falls, formerly a resident of Lincoln Court, passed away November 5, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
Don was born May 16, 1922, in Piru, California, to L. Byrd Mayfield and Clara Felsenthal Mayfield. He grew up and attended schools in Piru and graduated from Fillmore High School. He also attended Ventura Junior College. He served his country as a Petty Officer in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
He married Billie Chaplin September 14, 1962, in Santa Barbara, California. In 1956 he joined the Ventura County Fire Department and worked as a Fire Engineer until his retirement.
He was President of the Ventura County Retirement Association for two years. Don enjoyed raising birds and was President of the Ventura County Bird Club.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.
