DON MACDONALD
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Donald MacDonald, 94, of Idaho Falls,
died October 2, 2003, at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern
Idaho.
He was born November 5, 1908, at Pinconning, Michigan,
to William Albert MacDonald and Florence May Misner MacDonald. He grew up
in Pinconning and Marine City, Michigan, where he attended schools. He graduated
from the University of Michigan with a Masters in Business Administration
in 1933.
He married Dorothy Winfred Elsworth July 9, 1932, in Plymouth,
Michigan. They made their home in Albany, New York, until 1944, when they
returned to Marine City and he owned and operated the M & D Lumber Yard
until his retirement in 1975. Dorothy passed away February 27, 1986. He
came to Idaho Falls in 1990 so he could be near his son.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marine
City, and served on the Marine City and East China, Michigan School Boards
from 1948 to 1968. He was a member of the Marine City Lions Club from 1945
to 1990. He enjoyed golf and skiing. His grandchildren, Payton Elsworth
MacDonald and Jaimee Kristen MacDonald Dahl, were the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy.
Private Family Services will be held with burial in the
Woodlawn Cemetery in Marine City,
Michigan.
