Donal Maughan

Donal Ray Maughan, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 24, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from complications associated with diabetes. Donal was born November 3, 1934, in Grace, Idaho, to Raymond Lloyd Maughan and Elnora Lowe Maughan. He graduated from North Gem High School in Bancroft, Idaho. He continued his education at Idaho State University in Pocatello where he received a Bachelors Degree. He married Sarah LaVern Moser on September 25, 1953, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls where he was a pharmacist for 51 years. Donal also drove school bus for Idaho Falls Joint School District 91 for 35 years. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various callings including a stake mission, and in ward and stake clerk positions. He and Sarah served as temple workers in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for many years. Donal enjoyed playing the saxophone, fishing, traveling, playing and watching basketball and doing yard work. He especially loved his family and enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: Wife: Sarah Maughan, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Dale M. (Alan) Summers, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Bonnie Teen (Lane) Martin, Payson, UT Brother: Dell (DeAnn) Maughan, Grace, ID Brother: Berniel (Janey) Maughan, Salt Lake City, UT Sister: Clara Jean (Lynn) Bailey, Salt Lake City, UT Sister: LaRae (George) Millward, Chubbuck, ID Sister: Eileen (David) Miranda, Blackfoot, ID Brother-in-law: Dennis (Deanne) Moser, Grace, ID 14 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 2nd Ward, 1660 – 12th Street, with Bishop Mike Phippen officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Funeral services will also be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Bancroft LDS Church, 311 S. Main, Bancroft, with Bishop Leon Rindlisbaker officiating. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.
