Don Mitchell

Don Paul Mitchell, 76, of Ammon, passed away May 23, 2018, at his home. He was born March 3, 1942, in Shelley, Idaho, to Emmett D. Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth Hardcastle Mitchell. He grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Bonneville High School. On September 10, 1960, he married Margaret Tomiye Furukawa in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Don and Margaret made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Don worked as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1998. Margaret preceded him in death on April 5, 2008. Don belonged to the Local 370 Operating Engineers. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, and four wheeling. Don is survived by his daughter, Margie L. Mitchell of Archer, ID; daughter, Roseanna (Larry) Seymour of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Alicia M. Mitchell of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Britiany A. Mitchell of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Patrick W. (Brittany) Mitchell of Blackfoot, ID; brother, Larry (Earline) Mitchell of KY; sister, Linda (Gary) Hobbs of Idaho Falls, ID; close friend and companion, Fern Henderson of Burley, ID; two grandchildren, Larry Seymour and William Mitchell; and one great grandchild, Allie Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, William D. Mitchell; siblings, DeAnn Wilson, Gordon Mitchell, Lanny Mitchell, Lloyd Mitchell, John Mitchell, Cecil Mitchell, Buddy Mitchell, and Delores Borgensen. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen (301 S. Boulevard, Idaho Falls, ID 83401).

12:30 PM ,Saturday, June 2, 2018 Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery 800 East 1200 North Shelley, ID 83274 Notes: The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge).
