Dirk William Hollingsworth

Dirk William Hollingsworth, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 29, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was under the care of Brio Home Health and Hospice.

Dirk was born May 16, 1942, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Marsh Thomas Hollingsworth and Wanda Harper Hollingsworth. He grew up and attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School. Dirk joined the Air Force and served for 2 years 3 months and 29 days. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he got his pilot license.

He was previously married to Judy Rogers and Donna Jensen. On May 2, 1992, he married Kristine Herrera in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He called her his lovely young bride forever. Dirk and Kristine made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Dirk worked as a private pilot and flight instructor. He also was a commercial artist, screen printer, Journeyman house painter, and was the owner of Fancy Impressions.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dirk enjoyed playing his guitar, golfing, riding his motorcycle, and most of all, playing with his great grandchildren, Myah, Alijah, Emma, Rowan, Sophia, and Matix.

Dirk is survived by his wife, Kristine Hollingsworth of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Angie (Paul) Manning of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jeff (Blythe) Hollingsworth of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Sherri (Dick-deceased) McInelly of North Ogden, UT; brother, Brad (Debbie) Hollingsworth of Pocatello, ID; 9 grandchildren, Shae (Don) Best, Kylee (Matt) Crumpton, Cody Callendar, Paige (Wade) Manning, Nate (Sarah) Manning, Jay Manning, Micah (Elena) Manning, Jacob Hollingsworth, and Ryan Hollingsworth; 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marsh and Wanda Hollingsworth; son, Ricky Hollingsworth; sister, Sandra Mullenix; sister, Marre Chamberlin; brother, Tylon Hollingsworth; and best friend, Edward Adolfson.

A special thanks to Dr. Brad Erikson, and Crystal and Angela from Brio Home Health and Hospice for being respectful and taking loving care of Dirk during his last days.

A gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Primary Children’s Hospital.
