Dick Brunson

Melvin Richard “Dick” Brunson, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 9, 2026, at his home. He was under the care of Heritage Home Health and Hospice.

Dick was born June 23, 1935, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Clarence Otto Brunson and Ruth L. Hoffer Brunson. He grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot and later served in the United States Army. He also attended Idaho State University Technical College for Upholstrey.

On October 11, 1956, he married Millie Young in Blackfoot, Idaho. Dick and Millie made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Dick worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Idaho Falls at Idaho Falls Airport.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and his family.

Dick is survived by his wife, Millie Brunson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Dan (Becky) Brunson of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Becky (Wade) Wilcox; daughter, Teal (Bob) Stahl; daughter, Lora Colby; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruth; brother, Alvin Brunson; brother, Owen Brunson; sister, Wanona Crumb; and sister, Donna Still.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Pioneer Ward, 2020 South Charlotte Drive, with Bishop Birch officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45a.m. at the church. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.

Graveside services will be performed by family at a later date.
