Peggy Diane Watson, 72, of Ammon, passed away March 9, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was always known as Diane. Diane was born January 3, 1946, in Shelley, Idaho, to Francis Priest and Janice Arave Priest. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho and graduated from Shelley High School. Diane married Ron White. To this union were born three children, Justin, Kathy and Tiffanie. They were later divorced. On September 14, 1968, she married Vernon Watson, known as "Ernie," in Elko, Nevada. Ernie was a Navy Petty Officer, so Diane became a Navy wife and homemaker, living in San Francisco, California; Groton, Connecticut; Moscow, Idaho; Charleston, South Carolina; and Orlando, Florida. After retiring from the Navy, Diane and Ernie lived in Toledo, Ohio, for awhile, then moved back to Idaho in the Fall of 1992 to be closer to her family. She was an avid sewer and quilter. She made numerous quilts for the Linus Project, homeless shelters, veterans and friends. She sold quilts with an online business for awhile, but gave that up because she enjoyed giving them away. She was also an animal lover. She adored her rescue dogs, Zoe and Lily, and fed birds and squirrels in the backyard. Diane is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Ernie Watson of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Lois P. (Lamar) Yorgensen of Taylor, ID; son, Justin (Robyn) Watson of Irmo, SC; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Priest; mother, Janice Priest; daughters, Kathy White and Tiffanie Brumagin; and sister, Janice Arlene Isaacs. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Taylor Cemetery.
