Cynthia Diane Stephenson, 59, long time resident of Idaho Falls, Idaho and most recently living in La Grande, Oregon died quietly at her home January 27, 2014.
Diane was born June 12, 1954, in Decatur, Illinois to Everett Donald Buis and Violet Muezet Wakefield Buis. She grew up and attended schools in Decatur, graduating from Stephen Decatur High School. Later in life she attended Ricks College and Utah State University and received her Associate’s Degree.
In August 5, 1972, she married Randy James Cripe in Decatur, Illinois. They were later divorced.
On March 29, 1994, she married Mark Douglas Stephenson in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. Her greatest desire was to bless her family and serve others. Her daily efforts were always based on the needs of those around her, especially her family. She was an avid reader. She was a Master Gardener and roses were a great love of hers. She loved horses, fishing, crafts, writing letters and keeping the family connected.
She is survived by her husband, Mark; children, Benjamin (Linda) Cripe of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Justin (Tara) Cripe of Salt Lake City, Utah; Megan (Brooks) Haroldsen of Parkersburg, West Virginia; Melinda (Danny) Campbell of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Haley (Dallin) Jolley of Shelley, Idaho; Phillip Cripe of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Seth Stephenson, of Boise, Idaho. She and Mark share 26 beautiful grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Don Buis.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS 21st Ward (1055 East First Street) with Bishop Michael D. Baird officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
