Diane (Johnson) Crockett

Barbara Diane Crockett, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 18, 2022, at Rigby Lake Assisted Living. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

Diane was born June 28, 1937, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Reuel Hyde Johnson and Alice Lucile Myers Johnson. She grew up and attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School. She worked at the INEL for a short period of time as a secretary head of the Steno Pool.

On August 18, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Rees Joseph Crockett, in Pocatello, Idaho. Diane and Rees moved to Idaho Falls for work. There they added four children to their family: Eric, Leslie, Gail, and Wendy. On August 16, 1963, they were sealed as a family in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Diane was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful, life-long member and held many callings. One of her favorites was Young Women Camp Director. She had many talents. She was gifted in the arts, which led to her love of sewing, drawing, coloring, crafts, and beadwork. She was also an avid reader and doll collector. She loved holiday family gatherings.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Rees J Crockett of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Eric Crockett (Toni) of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Leslie Schwabedissen (Scott) of Rigby, ID; daughter, Gail Packer (Lane) of Rigby, ID; and daughter, Wendy Holmes (DeWayne) of Smithfield, UT; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Christine Stumbo; and brother, Kerry Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a brother.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Highland Park Ward, 955 Memorial Drive. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
