DEWEY B. MYLER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Dewey Benjamin Myler, 78, of Idaho Falls, died November 13, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 17, 1924, at Rigby, to Benjamin Hans Myler and Mae Ritter Myler. He grew up in the Clark area near Ririe and attended Ririe Elementary. The family moved to Idaho Falls when he was 12 and he attended O. E. Bell Jr. High and Idaho Falls High School.
He was drafted into the U. S. Army in March, 1943 and served until January, 1946. While stationed at Camp Perry, Ohio he met Elaine Magdalene Lang and they were married December 1, 1944, in the Army Chapel at Fort Lewis, Washington. He served overseas in the Mariana Islands of Tinian and Saipan and was in Tinian when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
After the war he served an apprenticeship as a plasterer until 1949, after which he worked for various plastering and concrete contractors until retiring in 1986. He was the Business Agent for the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Union and Training Coordinator for Southeastern Idaho Plasterers and Cement Masons.
He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and in his earlier years sang in the church choir. He liked to fish, read, and loved his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2002, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 455 West Sunnyside Road, with Pastor Larry Cudmore officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
