Dewey Bingham

Dewey R. Bingham, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 12, 2013, at his home of natural causes. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. Dewey was born August 7, 1920, in Rose, Idaho, to Alfred Bingham and Margery Alice Hansen Bingham. He grew up and attended schools in Ririe, New Sweden, and Idaho Falls before graduating from Idaho Falls High School. In September 1941, Dewey married Ruth V Gullixson in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. On May 29, 1970, he married Ruth Wilson Howard. Dewey was a farmer and lived in the Idaho Falls area his entire life. Dewey was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, boating, bowling, square dancing, traveling, and snowmobiling. Dewey is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ruth; Son, David L. (Jeanie) Bingham of Idaho Falls; Son, Donald Kent (Janet) Bingham of Seattle, Washington; Son, Larry D. (Jan) Bingham of Sandy, Utah; Son, Darold R. (Sheryl) Bingham of Blackfoot, Idaho; Daughter, Kathryn A. (Jim) Larpenteur of Portland, Oregon; Daughter, Ann M. (Dave) Latta of Mesa, Arizona; Son, Wayne T. (Carolyn) Howard of Idaho Falls; Son, John D. (Saralee) Howard of Idaho Falls; Son, Paul J. Howard of Idaho Falls; 25 grandchildren and 84 great grandchildren; Brother Lynn Bingham of Idaho Falls; Brother Wayne Bingham of Fresno, California; Sister, Beulah McClasky of Orem, Utah Sister-in-law, Lucy Bingham of Idaho Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Vern Bingham, and sister Wanda Rowland. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Idaho Falls LDs Mill Run ward, 2020 South Charlotte Drive, with Bishop Bryan Larson officiating. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and for one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
