DEWAYNE "DUDE' McKERIGAN Click here to view DeWayne's Video Tribute SHELLEY, ID -- DeWayne Dennis “Dude” McKerigan, 54, of Shelley, died January 18, 2010, at his home. DeWayne was born May 5, 1955, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Dennis Andrew McKerigan and Verl Ashliman McKerigan (Hayner). He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, including O. E. Bell Jr. High School, and graduated from Skyline High School in 1974. He served as a PV2 in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Sonia Marie Clark on October 15, 1988, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They moved to Shelley five years ago. He worked as a truck driver for over 25 years. DeWayne enjoyed working on cars and fishing. He liked visiting with everyone and loved his dogs and cats. Survivors include: Wife: Sonia McKerigan of Shelley, ID Son: Ryan Dennis McKerigan of Shelley, ID Daughter: Alicia Marie McKerigan of Shelley, ID Mother: Verl Hayner of Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Morris Chambers of Fernley, NV Sister: Cedinia (Larry) Thomas of Queens Valley, AZ Sister: Francis (Ken) Ketchie of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Tana Thorngren of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Donna (Jack) Barzee of Shelley, ID He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis McKerigan, and stepfather, Kenneth Hayner. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., both at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
