Devon James Nelson

Devon James Nelson, 22, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 19, 2023.

Devon was born March 8, 2001, in Round Rock, Texas, to James Robert Nelson and Lindsey Gale Brown. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.

Devon’s main focus was writing and producing music. Devon was incredibly creative and applied that creativity to his love for music and art. He enjoyed skateboarding and making others laugh. He was such a funny guy! He loved animals, especially his cats, Thomas and Benny. Devon had a huge heart and brought love and light with him wherever he went. He never met a stranger and was a friend to so many.

Devon is survived by his loving mother, Lindsey Gale Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; step-mother, Stacey Freeman; brothers, Preston (Shaina) Nelson, and Ryan Ibarra; the Drollinger-Upton family; grandparents, Ray and Susan Giovannini; grandparents, Ronnie and Jo Lynn Brown; father, James Robert Nelson, Jr.; grandmother, Barbara Rich; grandfather, Gary Temple; aunts, Dana Leigh Pohlmann, Ciana Marie (Mike) Ramirez, Michelle (Richard) Girouard, and Jobeth (Wes) Hoermann; and uncle Trey (Janet) Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his cousin, Karmyn Leigh Zboril, and nephew, Phoenix Lee Brown.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
