Derek Thomason

Charles Derek Thomason, 51, of Rigby, passed away December 2, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Derek was born November 7, 1970, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Charles  Thomason and Glenda McCain Thomason. He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. He also attended Idaho State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

Derek and  made his home in Rigby, Idaho, where he worked as a Social Worker.

He served in the National Guard and enjoyed racquetball, hunting and spending time with his family.

Derek is survived by his son, Magnum (Heather) Thomason of Pahrump, NV; granddaughters, Shealeigh, Aveligne, Graeclynn, and Calliope Thomason, all of Pahrump, NV; and sister, Dorinda Thomason of Germantown, MD.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Thomason. His mother, Glenda Rowe, passed away just three days after Derek.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Burton East Ward, 2332 West 2000 South, in Rexburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Wood Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs.
