Dennis Mccafferty

Dennis Ross McCafferty, 73, of Idaho Falls passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015, at home with his family present. Dennis was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ross and Hazel (Potter) McCafferty. Dennis attended schools in Idaho Falls. Following school he joined the Army. Due to medical conditions he was not able to complete a career in the Armed Forces and was given an Honorable discharge. He then choose a career as an electrician/electrical planner at INL which he retired in 1997. In 1961 he married Sandi Stoddard, the love of his life. To this union was born Terri Adams (Lane), Kimberly Armour and Darci Wilson (Travis). Dennis has 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grand children and family friend Dirk Murray. Dennis was very proud of his three daughters and their accomplishments. Dennis and Sandi enjoyed many years vacationing and going to Arizona for the winters with friends. He Traveled many places with his family and especially enjoyed their trip to Europe. Dennis enjoyed classic cars of all kinds, camping, recreational vehicles, hunting and always spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, two sisters Sharon Chambers (Boyd), Kelly Packer (Monte) and one brother Richard (Sharon) McCafferty. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Donald Armour. Services will be held at Wood Funeral Home in Ammon on Tuesday, October 20th. The viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. with funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Taylor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Snake River Animal Shelter, PO Box 51741, Idaho Falls, ID 83405.
