Dennis Patrick Dailey, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away at his home on October 13, 2022.
He was born on November 26, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Robert Franklin Dailey and Jeanette Enea Dailey. He grew up and attended schools in Milwaukee and graduated from James Madison High School.
In 1981, he spent a short time in the military before making his way out West, where he then met and fell in love with Beverly Reynolds. They were married on October 22, 1983. They moved to Logan, Utah, where they had their first child, Christopher Lee. After a bit of traveling to other states, the three of them made their home in Idaho Falls to be closer to family. They then had three more kids, Jessica Lynn, Jennifer Lee, and Dennis Andrew. They then spent almost nineteen years together before ending their marriage.
Dennis was a well known figure in town, spending twenty years working for the local Kmart before it closed and several years working at Smith's grocery store.
He was a collector, amassing a very large collection of Funko's, Hot Wheels, and other random pieces, but his collection of Star Trek memorabilia was by far the largest. He also had a deep appreciation for music and movies. But above all else, there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his kids and his grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his children, Christopher (Alicia) Dailey, Jessica Burt, Jennifer (Danny Moyer) Garcia, and Dennis Dailey, all of Idaho Falls, ID; sisters, Kathy (Thomas) Hill and Michele Dailey, both of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Gary Dailey of Milwaukee, WI; and fifteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Daniel Dailey and Timothy Dailey.
Services will be held in the Spring of 2023. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations through Venmo to @jessburt24.
A memorial service will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 1, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 1235 Juniper Drive, Idaho Falls. Military rites will be at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
