Dennis James Andersen, 56, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 8, 2010, at his home following a short illness.
He was born March 7, 1954, in Pocatello, Idaho to Leland R. Andersen and Ann Elizabeth Brown Andersen. He grew up in the area and attended Whittier Elementary, Central Junior High, and Skyline High School, where he played trumpet in the band. Except for four years in Seattle, Dennis lived in Idaho Falls his entire life.
On June 27, 1974, he married Patti Lynn Douglass in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were later divorced. He was a truck driver and saw much of the country on his long hauls.
Dennis enjoyed cards, leatherwork, and loved playing basketball and watching sports with his son. While a youth he spent time as a ball shagger and was known by the nickname “Buzzard”.
He enjoyed his friends, especially Karen Buchanan Charboneau, a true blue friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leland R. Andersen; son, Nathan Tyler Andersen; and grandparents, Leland H. & Mary R. Andersen and James Monroe & Edna Geneva Fox Brown.
A gathering and viewing will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls. Following the gathering and viewing, there will be a Wake for family and friends at Karen’s Park Avenue (362 Park Avenue).
