Bertha Denise Richards Ramos, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 25, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from a stroke and surrounded by her family.
Denise was born June 21, 1940, in Shelley, Idaho, to Rue Fredrick Richards and Clara Messick Richards. She grew up and attended school in Shelley and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
Denise met Robert Terrazas Ramos while working at Rogers Brothers potato processing plant. She was the love of his life and it was love at first sight. They were married on October 6, 1961 in Osgood, Idaho, in a ceremony officiated by the late Bishop Odell Pancheri, and they were together for 55 years.
They were blessed with one son, Bobby Jr. Denise loved to help him, and then the grandkids with their homework. She loved all her grandkids. She loved to read romance novels, go camping, and go to the Ramos family reunions. She liked to dance. She was a great cook, especially her must have oatmeal cookies and pot roast. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and with her step grandson.
Denise was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Denise is survived by her husband, Robert Ramos of Idaho Falls; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Bobby Jr., parents Rue & Clara Richards, a brother Gary Richards, and a sister Cheryl Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the Idaho Falls Willow Creek Ward, 6925 North 15th East. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery.
