Denece Brighton, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 16, 2021, at her home. She was under the care of her loving family and Eden Home Health.

Denece was born July 15, 1948, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Russell Jensen and Geraldine Drake Smith Jensen. She grew up and attended school in Kimberly, Idaho, and graduated from Kimberly High School. She also attended one year at Ricks College.

On July 27, 1967, she married William J Brighton in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with six children, Brenda, Craig, Russell, Roger, Laurel, and Michelle. Denece and J made their home in Idaho Falls where they raised their family. Denece was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings through the years, including: organist, pianist, Relief Society President, and Primary teacher. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, reading, and writing. She had beautiful penmanship. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Denece is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, J Brighton of Idaho Falls; daughter, Brenda (Dale) Nicholson of Lafayette, IN; son, Craig (Rachel) Brighton of San Tan Valley, AZ; son, Russell (Amanda) Brighton of Rigby, ID; son, Roger (Camille) Brighton of Moreland, ID; daughter, Laurel Brighton of Idaho Falls; daughter, Michelle Brighton of Idaho Falls; brother, Dane (Wanda) Jensen of Lewiston, UT; 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Gerladine Jensen; brother, Arlen Jensen; and sister, Necia Hartgrave.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Milo LDS Church Building, 12127 North 75th East, with Bishop Ryan Harrigfeld officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery.
