Delwin Ray “Del” Allsop, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 17, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Del was born April 5, 1939, in Bozeman, Montana, to Roy Allan Allsop and Grace L. Gilchrist Allsop. He grew up and attended schools in Belgrade, Montana, where he graduated from Belgrade High School. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Del also lived in Great Falls, Butte, and Billings, MT; Seattle, WA; Cody, Sheridan, Casper, and Powell, WY; before moving to Idaho Falls. On September 1, 1991, he married Judith A. Barnhart in Elko, Nevada. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Master Mechanic for Caterpillar and John Deere and as a Jet Engine Mechanic for Boeing. Del enjoyed keeping up on Boeing airplanes even after his retirement. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Del enjoyed woodworking; computers; family history; and his pets – Buddy, his dog and D.C., his cat. Survivors are: Wife: Judy Allsop, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Robert Roy Allsop, Bozeman, MT Son: Jeffery Kelly Allsop, Boise, ID Daughter: Angela Ann Allsop, Burlington, IA Daughter: Cassie Marie Allsop, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Allan Allsop, Bozeman, MT and 11 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the New Sweden Cemetery with Pastor Alton Johnson of the Idaho Falls First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to leaving for the cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team assisted by the Idaho Honor Guard. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Bonneville County Humane Society, 444 North Eastern Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID 83402, or the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

2 p.m. ,Saturday, April 21, 2012 New Sweden Cemetery Notes: The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to leaving for the cemetery.
