Deloris "Dee" Alderson

Deloris Delite Wilkie Alderson, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 25, 2018, at MorningStar Senior Living Center. Dee was born April 1, 1929, in Manly, Iowa, to David "Luck" Wilkie and Gladys Enabnet Wilkie. She grew up and attended schools in Kanawha, Iowa. She also attended University of Northern Iowa where she received a Bachelor’s Degree. On June 24, 1951, she married Merlin "Salt" Alderson in Storm Lake, Iowa. To this union were born two daughters: Lynn and Diana. Dee was an English teacher for the U.S. Air Force in Lincoln, Nebraska as well as a teacher in both public and Catholic schools in Denver and Idaho Falls. She was also a member of the International Chapter PEO Sisterhood. Dee was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of numerous bridge clubs and Great Books Club. She also loved to travel. Deloris is survived by daughter, Dr. Lynn Alderson of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Diana (Greg) Jacobsen of Denver, CO; sister, Rose Hall of Dubuque, IA; four grandchildren, Nicole and Erik Jacobsen of Dallas Texas, Chad Smith of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Chance Smith of Idaho Falls, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, David Wilkie; and son-in-law, Jay Smith, Jr. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the reflection staff at MorningStar For their exceptional care. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church (1730 Saint Clair Road) with Pastor Nancy Amos officiating. Following the service a reception will be held for one hour. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your favorite charity in Dee’s name.
