Delmar Pack

Delmar Watson Pack, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 23, 2011 at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living in Idaho Falls. He was under the care of Creekside Hospice. Del was born April 20, 1918 in Virginia, Idaho to Frederick John Pack and Alice Elizabeth Watson Pack. He grew up in Pocatello and King Hill, Idaho. He graduated from Gooding High School. On August 22, 1939 he married Verna May Quinton in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they raised six children. Del was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several callings including ward clerk, stake clerk, and High Priest group leader. He was also a member of the Lions Club. He was general manager of the Hotel Rogers and the Westbank Convention Center. In his earlier years, he managed the Lincoln Café and Covey’s Restaurant and Coffee Shop. Del had traveled extensively. He enjoyed music, hiking, fishing, theater, and the arts. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandkids, and great grandkids. Del was very much a people person – very warm and hospitable. He was loved by all who knew him. Survivors include: Son: John (Loretta) Pack of Pocatello; Daughter: Marlene Hinckley of Idaho Falls; Son: Merrill (Judy) Pack of St. George, UT; Daughter: Geri (Dean) Ransom of Idaho Falls; Son: Robert B. (Linda) Pack of Scottsdale, AZ; and Carolyn (Jim) Picanco, of Idaho Falls; 19 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers: Fred Pack, Clarence Pack, Roland Pack; four sisters: Connie Dewey, Ada Marks, Letha Staker, Jessie Pack; one son-in-law: Edwin LeRoy Hinckley, and two grandchildren: Susan Elder and Jessica Pack. &nbsp Born: April 20, 1918&nbsp Place of Birth: Virginia, ID&nbsp Death: January 23, 2011&nbsp Place of Death: Idaho Falls, ID&nbsp Occupation: General Manager

Funeral Services - Saturday

Saturday January 29, 2011 , 11:00 a.m. at Idaho Falls LDS 2nd Ward The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue) and 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.
