Della Ybarra

Della Ybarra, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on June 3, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love and supported by the compassionate care of Brio Hospice.

Della was born on December 18, 1964, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Eduardo Torres and Maria Ybarra. She was raised in Scottsbluff where she attended local schools and graduated from Scottsbluff High School. Later, she pursued studies in health and caregiving at a community college, following her lifelong calling to care for others.

On September 30, 1979, she married Leoncio Trejo. Together, they built a life in Driggs, Idaho, raising five children with love, devotion, and strong family values. After their separation, Della moved to Idaho Falls and continued her life’s work as a caregiver. She found great purpose and joy in serving the elderly and disabled, many of whom she treated like family. Her work in health and social care was far more than a job, it was a reflection of her generous spirit and boundless compassion.

Although she was not affiliated with a specific church, Della was a devoted Christian. Her faith was evident in how she lived: serving others with kindness, humility, and grace.

Family was the center of Della’s world. She cherished every moment spent with her children and especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her love was abundant, her laughter contagious, and her presence a constant source of comfort and strength.

She is survived by her five children, Miguel Trejo of Temecula, California; Paul Trejo of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Renato Trejo of Las Vegas, Nevada; Natalie Trejo of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Pedro Trejo of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and her many beloved grandchildren, who will forever miss their devoted grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo Torres and Maria Ybarra; her siblings, Maria Ybarra Escamilla, Miguel Ybarra, and Manuel J. Ybarra; as well as several nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Pastor Tim Rupp of Watersprings Church officiating. The family will greet friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Ammon Cemetery.

Services will be broadcast live on this page.

Personal Tribute Della's heart was a refuge for many—always open, always giving.

She lived with grace, loved without limits, and gave with joy.

Her faith, quiet but unwavering, guided her every step. We will miss her deeply, but we carry her spirit with us always.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed." – Proverbs 31:28
