Della Marie (Stears) Goody

Della Marie Goody, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 31, 2022, on Halloween, one of her favorite holidays.

Della was born June 25, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Len Taylor Stears and Thelma Agnes McOsker Parks Stears. She grew up on a small farm in Shelley, Idaho, and attended elementary school through high school in that area.

Della was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and preserving food. She loved playing games and puzzles with family, shopping on QVC (especially kitchen gadgets and clothing). She loved leopard print, bright colors, and anything bedazzled. She loved holidays and decorating for them. All of her kids and grandkids will forever remember them. They were usually interactive, motion activated, fiber optic, or they sang obnoxious, scary songs.

Della was one tough cookie!! She survived getting hit by a car when she was four, a leg amputation, breast cancer, Diabetes, a stroke, three husbands, and raising four challenging sons.

Della is survived by her loving sons, Robert (Dena) Goody, Bradley Goody, and Gregory (Lyndsey) Goody, all of Rigby, ID; numerous nieces, nephews, and a sister-in-law. Her legacy continues through nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Delen Stears, Alan Stears, and Van Stears; son, Randall Renzi; and grandsons, Jeremy and Christopher Renzi.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery.
