Dell Kevin Taysom, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away from complications of cancer on May 5, 2019. He passed at home, surrounded by his loving family. Dell was born February 4, 1958, in Long Beach, California, to Dell Hubert Taysom and Carol Herndon Mitchell. As Dell Sr. passed away early on in his life, Dell was raised by his mother and stepfather, Thomas R. Mitchell. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended Ricks College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Minor in History from Idaho State University. On August 17, 1984, he married Patricia Magrini in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and they raised five children together, Rick, Jason, Taryn, Juliet, and Jake. Dell and Patricia were later divorced. Dell made his home in Idaho Falls. He was a master gardener, skilled carpenter, and teacher, who worked most recently at the Development Workshop. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He taught Gospel Doctrine and Gospel Essentials. He was a jack-of-all-trades and loving father and grandfather. Dell is survived by his son, Rick (Jenn) Magrini of Idaho Falls; son, Jason Magrini of Idaho Falls; daughter, Taryn (Nick) Yates of Boise, ID; daughter, Juliet (John) Byington of Idaho Falls; son, Jake (Christine) Taysom of Idaho Falls; mother, Carol (Tom) Mitchell of Idaho Falls; girlfriend, Carol Melton of Shelley, ID; brother, Lane Taysom of Idaho Falls; brother, Garret (Michele) Taysom of West Richland, WA; sister, Lorinda (Jeff) Meservy of Santa Rosa, CA; sister, Crystal (Nate) Taylor of Richland, WA; sister, Becky (Kelden) Boren of Idaho Falls; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Dell Hubert Taysom; brother, Tommie Mitchell; and sister, Cheryl Kempfer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the Idaho Falls 11th Ward, 1235 Juniper Drive, with Bishop Randall Petersen officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Woodville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wood Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
