Deesta Crowley

DeESTA CROWLEY IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Our beloved mother and grandmother, DeEsta Jeffs Crowley passed away on Monday, November 10, 2008, at the age of 97. She was born July 22, 1911, in Rigby, Idaho, to John Henry Jeffs and Clara Ellsworth Jeffs. DeEsta spent her early years in Rigby, Idaho, enveloped in the large family of her maternal grandparents. She later moved to Idaho Falls, where she spent the majority of her life. She married Benjamin Clinton Crowley on October 28, 1942. Together they built the Oneida Trailer Court, a business they operated for over forty years. DeEsta had an affinity for children and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, devoted wife and gifted homemaker. She had a stalwart character and dealt with the challenges in her life with courage and without complaint. Her unique sense of humor made us laugh often. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. DeEsta is survived by her daughters, Janel (Leland) Keller, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and LuAnn Loughton, Pleasant Grove, Utah; six grandchildren, James (Karen) Keller, Scott Keller, Meredith Loughton, Benjamin (Jenny) Loughton, Samuel Loughton and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sister. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family extends their heart-felt thanks to the nurses and staff at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. --------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Susan (Ravenscraft) Smith Susansth0619@msn.com Lu Ann and Janel, I am so sorry to hear that your Mom has passed. I am certain though that at 97 she was ready to be with Benny. My daughters Mary Ann and Mary Lou spent many years under DeEsta’s watchful Eyes and I am so thankful that you shared your Mom. It was wonderful to never have to worry and just know that DeEsta would keep the girls safe. Whenever the girls get together they speak of the fun they had at DeEsta and Benny’s. I do hope that all is well with you and your families and that You will find peace knowing that your Mom is in the hands of the Lord. Sincerely, Susan Mark Brandon skygaze@bdhsi.com I lived in the trailer court next door to your mother in the early 80's. Your mom was like a grandmother to me. I have some fond memories of her and Ben. Wendy May God bless and be with your family during this time. And know that we truly thought the world of DeESTA at Life Care she made us smile, and we cried many tears when she passed. We will miss her and have many fond memories of her. Know that she is with/and is an angle. And is in the house of the Lord and I'm sure family. Do not cry for her death, Laugh for her time she was here. God be with your family. Wendy(noc shift) Life Care Rebekah Brower Jackson rbjhj@aol.com I have never met DeEsta, but she is my grandmother's cousin (Zelda Finn daughter of Sarah Jeffs) and I just wanted to tell you how lucky you are to have come from such great people. God Bless Diane (Thornton) Covert mzkiz@cableone.net Luann and Janel, I am very sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I remember spending time in her home while taking piano lessons from Luann and also her visiting at our home while my own Mother did clothing alterations for your family. She was always such a beautiful, kind spirit. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives. Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near; Still loved, still missed and very dear. My heart goes out to your families at this difficult time. Sincerely, Diane
