Glen Dee Westergard, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 30, 2014, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, Indiana, of natural causes, while visiting his daughter and her family.
Dee was born April 26, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Glen Denning Westergard and Thelda Hansen Westergard. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He was a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls.
On April 2, 1965, he married Susan Empey Westergard in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had three children, Cindi, Lisa, and Brett. Dee worked at Westergard Construction Company, Bonneville Paving Company, Burggraf Construction Company, and at the Idaho National Laboratory.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed camping, motorcycles, snowmobiles, cars, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Dee is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Sue Westergard of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Cindi (Michael) Berry of Fishers, IN,
daughter, Lisa (Claude) Gelinas of Albuquerque, NM,
son, Brett Dee (Kim) Westergard of Shelley, ID,
brother, Steven (Susan) Westergard of Yakima, WA;
brother, Val (Donna) Westergard of Meridian, ID;
brother, Scott (Denise) Westergard of Idaho Falls, ID;
sister, Julie Humpherys of Lehi, UT;
sister, Jann (Gary) Green of St. George, UT,
sister, Jaci Westergard of Medford, OR;
and eight grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Brent Westergard and Paul Westergard.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Bryant Hafen of the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 3rd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
