Dee Hayes

Dee Fred Hayes, 56, of Ririe, Idaho Falls, and most recently of Tetonia, passed away September 25, 2016, on Pine Creek, in a fishing accident.

He was born October 5, 1959, in Rigby, Idaho, to Reed Bush Hayes and Helen Venetia Durrant Hayes. He attended school in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School.

On May 30, 1979, Dee married Amy Michelle Byington. They had one daughter, Tangi Michelle Hayes. They were later divorced.

On December 21, 1989, Dee married Jennifer Monroe. They had one daughter, Brittanny Lee Hayes. They were later divorced.

On September 19, 1994, Dee married Barbara Jean Curtis. They had two sons, Jerad Kole Dee Hayes and Jairamiah Hayes. He raised his step daughters, Chassidy, Dezaray, and McKinzie, as his own. They were later divorced.

He and Tonya Lagana have been together for 14 years and made their home in Tetonia. His step sons from this relationship were Dylan, Makena, and Jett.

Dee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked hard all of his adult life for the railroad. He was a welder, concrete finisher, and painter of large buildings. Dee enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and all outdoor activities.

Dee is survived by his daughter, Michelle Hayes of Eugene, OR; daughter, Brittanny Jensen of Meridian, ID; son, Jerad Dee Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jairamiah Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; girlfriend, Tonya Lagana of Tetonia, ID; brother, J.R. (Karen) Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, MarJean Campbell of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, FarrDell (Loa) Hayes of Ririe, ID; brother, Karl Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; step children, Chassidy Curtis, Dezaray and McKinzie Weekes, and Makena, Jett, and Dylan Lagana; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Renetia Nielson, and two nephews, Rory Mitchell and Kelly Hjelm.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ririe Cemetery.
