DEE HAMPTON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Dee Hampton, 76, of Idaho Falls, died October 20, 2002, at his home.
He was born May 30, 1926, in the old Railroad Section House at Firth, Idaho, to Edaly Junius Hampton and Pauline Elizabeth Balka Hampton. In his early years the family also lived briefly in Shelley, Idaho, and Los Angeles, California, before coming to Idaho Falls in 1933. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Hawthorne Elementary School, O. E. Bell Jr. High School, and Idaho Falls High School until he was drafted in 1946. He served in the U. S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during World War II.
He married Barbara Haws March 14, 1947, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls until 1961, when they moved to the Jameston area. They lived in Jameston until 1974, then moved back to Idaho Falls. He worked with his father in his concrete and block business in his younger years. He went to work at the AEC as a guard in 1950. In 1955 he moved to the Personnel Security Branch, and he retired as Branch Chief after 35 years of government service.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed building and built five homes and a cabin for his family. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golf.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2002, at the Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Fritz Schmutz of the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 3rd Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the services on Saturday, both at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.

Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1920 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83404.
