Andre "Dee" Brown, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 26, 2018, in Idaho Falls. Dee was born March 29, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Guy Monroe "Monte" Dodge and Didi Dziabas Brown. He was later adopted by his stepfather, Marvin Hyatt Brown. He grew up and attended schools in Mabton, Washington, and Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended University of Idaho. He served in the Navy Reserves. On April 28, 1979, he married Nena Luthi in Freedom, Wyoming. To this union were born two children, Celeste and Alecia. Dee and Nena made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Dee worked as a police officer for The City of Idaho Falls Police Department for 33 years until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed being a police officer and serving his community. Dee enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, reading, cooking, traveling, animals, being on his boat on Jackson Lake, and on the ocean, and spending time with his family. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. During his retirement, he enjoyed watching and playing with his young grandkids, Bryson, Asher, Berkley, and Wrigley. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dee is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Nena L. Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Celeste (Dustin) Barron of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Alecia (Jonathan) Hilbert of Herriman, UT; son, Kirk Dee (Angie) Andrus of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Renee (John) Parry of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Tracy Dodge of Ucon, ID; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Didi Brown and Monte and Joyce Dodge; parents-in-law, Dick and Reba Luthi; and brother, Kenneth Dodge. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Freedom Cemetery in Freedom, Idaho. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
