Debra Kay (Rudolph) Shedd

Debbie Shedd was born December 30, 1956, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Harold and JoAnna Rudolph. When she was young, her parents divorced and Harold remarried. Debbie was raised by her dad and stepmother, Grace. She attended schools in Pocatello (Edahow, Hawthorne, and Highland) and Idaho Falls.

Debbie married Don Dalton. To this union, Daniel, Jennifer (deceased), David, and Denna were born. Debbie and Don were later divorced. She married DeWayne Shedd, and to this union was born Derrick and DeAndra. They moved around during their marriage, living in Washington and Texas, before returning to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to be near her family. Debbie and DeWayne were later divorced.

She worked as a customer service representative for Qwest and Century Link, which she very much enjoyed. Later, she furthered her education, earning her degree in Medical Billing and Coding before she was forced into early retirement due to a physical ailment.

Debbie was an awesome big sister to her siblings, Pam, Brenda, Steve, and Roger, as well as Rick Sherry and David Birch. She was a kindhearted and fearless person and nothing could stand in her way. Debbie watched over her children like a mother bear. She loved her children and grandchildren. Debra enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, gardening, crocheting, and nature as a whole.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Dalton, David Dalton, Denna (Jaq) Meier, Derrick (Jazmine) Shedd, and DeAndra (Scott) Jones; her grandchildren, Dimitri, Garrett, Madilynn, and Adaline Jones, and Apollo Shedd; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Debbie was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer; father and stepmother, Harold and Grace Rudolph; mother and stepfather, JoAnna and Brent Covington; sisters, Pam Porter and Brenda Daniels; and brother, David Birch.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery in Ammon, Idaho.

The family would like to thank Encompass Home Health and Hospice who helped Denna and her siblings care for their mother during the final stages of her long, hard battle with cancer.
