DEBRA SUE MECHAM
SALT LAKE CITY, UT - Debra Sue Pinn Mecham said her final
goodbye Tuesday, September 16, 2003, at the University of Utah Medical Center
in Salt Lake City. Her death came peacefully as a result of surgical complications
and quick progression of three very rare simultaneous liver cancers.
Debbie was born April 23, 1952, at Caldwell, Idaho, the
second daughter of Alva Eugene Pinn and Audrey Luella Mabe Pinn.
After leaving Caldwell she also lived as a young child
in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, but most of her childhood was spent in Mountain
Home, Idaho, where she graduated from high school. She also attended Ricks
College.
She married Darwin Lester Mecham on February 18, 1972,
in the Idaho Falls Temple, for time and all eternity. She has been an example
of a devoted wife. Her greatest accomplishments and lights of her life have
been her four children. They have always come first and she has been tireless
in being their advocate and champion. They are hers forever and she will
always be near.
Debbie has been an extremely talented and artistic person
who has had a passion for "beads and bobbles" and created many
intricately beautiful handcrafted pieces of jewelry. She has been well known
for her hand dipped chocolates and beautiful cakes. She's also received
great joy in collecting Barbie Dolls and delicate fairies. She had a talent
for creating and recreating beautiful things. Her beautiful voice has been
a source of comfort, joy and peace to many.
Everyone liked Debbie and felt comfortable being with her,
which is one of the reasons we'll miss her so much. She is an active member
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has served in many
positions. She has been a lady of great compassion and unfailing service
wherever needed.
She is survived by her husband, Darwin, of Idaho Falls,
her son, Jonathan Eric Mecham of Tooele, Utah, and his wife, Clarissa, and
their sons, Logan and Conner; her son, Alan Richard Mecham of Norway, and
his wife, Anette, and their sons, Nathaniel and Benjamin; her daughter,
Melanie Sue Henderson, of Rexburg, Idaho, and her husband, Michael, and
their daughters, Mikayla and Audrey; and her son, Timothy Virgil Mecham,
of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She is also survived by her mother Audrey Pinn Gratton
of Meridian, Idaho; her sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Brent Field of
Meridian, Idaho and their family; her mother and father-in-law, Florence
and Rich Mecham of Shelley, Idaho; and sister-in-law, Doris Stewart, of
Idaho Falls, and her family.

19, 2003, at the Westview Ward, Eagle Rock LDS Stake, with Bishop Mark McKay
officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 7 to 8:30
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and for Friday one hour prior to
