Deborah Jean Clay, 70, of Ammon, passed away January 13, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Debbie was born June 4, 1955, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Willis Elwood Brandon and Elma Naomi Crow Brandon. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
She married James Roy Fancher in Idaho Falls. They had three children together, Heather, Jamie, and Jeremy. Debbie and James were later divorced.
On October 11, 1980, she married William Bradley Clay in Idaho Falls. Together they had Trista and Brian. They also raised DeAnn, Brad’s daughter. Debbie and Brad made their home in Idaho Falls where Debbie worked as a Store Director for Maverick. Brad passed away in June of 2012.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed macrame, camping, oil painting, cooking, gardening, and playing pool.
Debbie is survived by her daughters, Heather Welch of Idaho Falls, ID, Jamie Fancher of Idaho Falls, DeAnn (Chris) Smith of Boise, ID, Trista (Kenny Summa) Kloack of Idaho Falls; son, Brian Clay of Rexburg, ID; brother, Mark (Linda) Brandon of Shelley, ID; brother, Kent Brandon of Kuna, ID; sister, Connie (Gary) Clay of Post Falls, ID; brother, Neal Brandon of Kuna, ID; sister, Judy (Todd) Ritter of Ammon, ID; sister, Deanne Lewis of UT; sister, Chris Rhoades of AZ; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Brad; son, Jeremy Roy Fancher; brother-in-law, Gary Clay; and nephew, Travis Clay.
A private family service will be held.
