Debajani (Panda) Tripathy, 54, of Idaho Falls, passed away on March 5, 2025, at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Debajani was born on April 25, 1970, in Cuttack (Odisha, India), to Braja Kishor Panda (father) and Basanti Panda (mother). She grew up and attended schools in Bhubaneswar (India) and graduated from Capital Girls’ High School, Unit-II, Bhubaneswar. She also attended Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, and earned two Master’s Degrees (Sociology and Education).
On July 6, 1995, she married Prabhat Kumar Tripathy in Bhubaneswar, India. Debajani and Prabhat made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Debajani was a homemaker.
She was a member of Utkal Literature Festival (ULF) - A Festival of Literature and Performing Arts Center, Bhubaneswar. She was an erudite poet, a fine cook, an avid gardener, a passionate painter, a curious traveler, and above all, an empathetic lady with a deep sense of spirituality.
Debajani is survived by her son, Anurag Tripathy; husband, Prabhat Kumar Tripathy from Idaho Falls, ID; her mother; one sister, Arundhati; and three brothers, Jugal Kishore, Nand Kishore, and Lalatendu.
She was preceded in death by her father, Braja Kishor Panda.
