Deanna Quinn Hancock, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully May 20, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, with her children by her side. Deanna was born August 24, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William (Bus) Quinn and Fern Hansen Quinn. She grew up in the area and attended Idaho Falls High School. In 1954, she married Robert James (Jim) Meikle in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born three children: Kim, Brian, and Terri. Deanna was a mother and homemaker during their marriage. She and Jim later divorced. In 1965, she married Jim Veeneman in Idaho Falls. They had a son, Jason Veeneman. They were later divorced. Deanna worked at Waters Asbestos, C-A-L Ranch, and for the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office. On July 10, 1980, she married John L. "Jack" Hancock in Nome, Alaska. While living there she worked for the State of Alaska and received two prestigious Governor’s Awards. Deanna and Jack enjoyed riding four-wheelers, raising two Basset Hounds, and enduring the cold winters. Following their retirement to Oregon, they enjoyed gardening, tinkering around in the woods and loved spending time with their families, including Jack’s three children: Jodi, Lisa, and Tim. Deanna also enjoyed dancing, playing the piano, graphic art design, and her beloved dog, Puckie. Deanna is survived by daughter, Kim (Blair) Parkinson of St. Anthony, ID; daughter, Terri Meikle of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jason Veeneman of Boise, ID; sister, Bonnie (Ted) Wright of Mesa, AZ; brother, Noel Quinn of Riverside, CA. 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jack; a son, Brian Meikle; and a brother, Jay Don Quinn. Private family services will be held at a later date.
