Deann Skinner

On April 24, 2011, our beloved wife and mother, Erma DeAnn Skinner of St. George, Utah, age 78, passed away. DeAnn was born to Eugene James Jenson and Erma Dean Jenson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, on March 12, 1934, and raised on her father’s farm in Clark. She attended Rigby High School, then married Blaine Skinner in the Idaho Falls Temple and enjoyed 59 years of marriage. DeAnn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many positions in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations. She also served with her husband Blaine on an LDS Mission to Nauvoo, Illinois, where she enjoyed performing in skits, plays, and educating visitors concerning early LDS Church history. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a professional seamstress who enjoyed many hobbies including: competitive pistol shooting, gardening, painting, camping, travel, and table games. She also had a wonderful singing voice and enjoyed playing the organ and violin. She was a loyal Utah Jazz fan. She loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and made every effort to attend their events whenever possible. DeAnn will be remembered for her cheerfulness, honesty, faithful church service, zest for life, and unconditional love for her family and friends. She is survived by her seven children: Steve B. Skinner (Debbie Nave Skinner) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Rick E. Skinner (Dixie Price Skinner) of Boise, Idaho, Sheree S. Hess (Mike Hess) of American Falls, Idaho, Laura S. Smith (Brian Smith) of Orem, Utah, Vicki S. Bass (Ed Bass) of Forth Worth, Texas, Blake J. Skinner of Alvarado, Texas, Shanna S. (Jay) Miller of St Anthony, Idaho, and Wendy R. (Michael) Martin (a niece who lived with the family for several years) of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Rees Ray.
