He was under the care of his family and Hands of Hope Hospice. He was born September 17, 1926, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Abner Chapin Snarr and Isabelle Affleck Snarr. He grew up west of town in the country on his parents farm, attending schools in the area. He was drafted out of high school to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II. When he returned home he finished his Senior year of high school, where he participated in boxing. On January 17, 1948, he married Margaret Carolyn Wasley in Paris, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 23, 1950. Dean enjoyed farming alongside his wife and family and was a great caregiver for his wife who had many health problems over the years. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin where he ranched in Spencer, Idaho and spent many hours fishing there in Beaver Creek and showing his family how to catch the “big ones”. He loved family activities, camping and spending time with his loved ones. He loved teasing his grandkids and enjoyed giving them treats when they came to visit. In their later years Margaret and Dean enjoyed spending winters in Yuma, Arizona where they made wonderful new friends, enjoyed bowling, and Dean loved his golf. Dean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in numerous callings including Scoutmaster, First Counselor in the Bishopric, Stake Sports Director, and as a Counselor in the Elder’s Quorum.
