Dean C. McClellan - 01/31/2002 Dean C. McClellan - 01/31/2002 DEAN C. McCLELLAN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Dean Clark McClellan, 92, of Idaho Falls and former Blackfoot resident, died January 30, 2002, at his home in Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Community in Idaho Falls. He was born July 5, 1909, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Raymond McClellan and Mary Elizabeth Clark McClellan. He attended public schools at Twin Falls and Blackfoot. He married Fern Clark in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on August 2, 1934. They made their home in Blackfoot until 1955, when they moved to Idaho Falls. Dean was an accountant and worked first for Anderson Lumber Company, then at the Boyle Hardware Company in Blackfoot. He was an Internal Revenue Agent for 29 years, retiring in 1972. Fern passed away Christmas Day, 1998. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his experience as an accountant proved valuable as he served as a ward and stake clerk for sixty-two years. He and his wife worked in the Idaho Falls Temple, where he was Assistant Recorder. He loved to read and read several hours each day. His family was important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. When he was in his eighties he discovered a new hobby, his computer, and spent many hours corresponding with family and friends by e-mail, taking and printing digital photos, and compiling family history information. Surviving are:Son: Grant [Jeanne] McClellan, Rigby, IDSon: Wayne (Nelda) McClellan, Blackfoot, IDSon: Roger [Gwen] McClellan, Brigham City, UTDaughter: Jeanette [Ferrol] Truman, Blue Springs, MODaughter: Ila Dean Hagen, Idaho Falls, IDSister: Sara Perdue, Moses Lake, WA 25 Grandchildren, 49 Great GrandchildrenHe was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three brothers, a sister, a son-in-law, and two granddaughters. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2002, at the Idaho Falls LDS 3rd Ward, 2025 Jennie Lee Drive, with Bishop John Blacker officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402-4092.
