Dean Jay Hansen

Dean Jay Hansen, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 28, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Dean was born November 12, 1961, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Sherron Jay Hansen and Margene Hampton Hansen. He grew up playing in the Shelley, Idaho area and attended the local high school.

Dean made his home in Idaho Falls where he helped his father with the farm and ranch. While working on the farm and ranch, he took up an interest in real estate. He took the opportunity to get his broker’s license and opened his own brokerage business.

He was an outdoor enthusiast and especially enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his dirt bike, down hill skiing, water skiing, hiking, riding the 4-wheeler, and spending time in his cabin. He was a builder of many things and had a knack of using what was around him to create a solution to problems. He looked forward to the dawn and the challenges the day would bring. You could always find him outside. Maybe he was in the park next to his house or up in the mountains making improvements in Wolverine. He always enjoyed meeting new people. There was never a place he could go without having a connection to someone there. He always had something wonderful to say and wanted to share knowledge with people. He had the knack to help you look at any situation in a positive light. He was a wise man that would share his wisdom to all who needed guidance without judgment. He was known to be a very spiritual person.

Dean is survived by his nieces, Ciera and Kylee Hansen; nephew, Jet Hansen; sister, Joni Oakey; brother, Kirk Hansen; and loved liked sons, Garrett and Chance Sauceda, all of Idaho Falls, ID.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherron and Margene Hansen.
