Dean Colpus

Herbert "Dean" Colpus, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 11, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Dean was born September 30, 1942, in Melrose, Massachusetts, to Herbert W Colpus and Marion B Walsh Colpus. He obtained his Bachelor’s from Melrose University and served in the Navy for twenty-two years. He received several awards, including the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Navy Unit Commendation Award. Upon retiring from the Navy he went on to work at the INL as a Radiological Controls Shift Supervisor where he retired after 20 years. Originally married to Margaret Colpus, they divorced in 1990 and he later married Nancy L. Batchelder in 2001. Dean enjoyed hunting and golfing. Dean is survived by his wife, Nancy Batchelder of Idaho Falls and brother, Ron Colpus of Boston, MA. He was preceded in death by his parents. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
