Dean Beesley

DEAN BEESLEY IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Dean Beesley, 76, passed away suddenly September 11, 2004, in Idaho Falls. He was born August 30, 1928, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Evelyn May Scott Beesley and Lawrence “Shrimp” Beesley. He spent the early years of his childhood “up on top” of Teton Pass, where his grandma ran Scott’s Roadhouse and his grandpa carried mail over the pass from Victor, Idaho, to Jackson, Wyoming. He graduated from Teton Valley High School in Driggs, Idaho, in 1946. During his high school years he was on the wrestling team, boxing team, basketball and ski teams. He married Margaret Young in 1947 and they had a daughter, Cheryl Ann. They were later divorced. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War from September 1951 to October, 1953. In 1956 he married Hazel Fisher and became a dad to her three daughters, Judy, Nanci, and LeeAnn. He and Hazel had two daughters together, Janet and Sandy. Dean loved to “tinker” out in his shop and could fix almost anything. He loved collecting and shooting guns. At one time he was a licensed pilot and flew his own plane. Dean worked as a Master Mechanic for Peter Kiewitt and Sons for 32 years. He was a man of character and we will always be proud of who he was. He became sweeter and kinder with each passing year. Dean is survived by his wife, Hazel; five daughters; Cheryl Ann (Bob) Bottom of Salt Lake City, UT, Judy Skinner of Pocatello, Nanci Champion of Idaho Falls, Janet (John) VanDerStappen of Clinton, Utah, and Sandy (Blake) Nuffer of Worland, Wyoming; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, his parents, and a daughter, LeeAnn. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at the Ammon LDS 2nd Ward (2945 Selway) with Jake Johnston officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
