Dawson Grover

Jade “Dawson” Grover, our loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away at the age of 17, on September 15, 2024, in a tragic car accident in Bonneville County, Idaho.

Dawson was born as a special gift on his father’s birthday, April 29, 2007, to J’dee and Natalie Grover, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. His big, blue eyes instantly brightened the world and continued to shine throughout his life. Dawson joined two older siblings, Reagan and Dylan, and their family was complete when his brother, Jagger, was born. Dawson’s care for his parents and siblings is unmatched, and his selfless love lived large even through his last moments on earth.

As a child, Dawson was quietly witty, quick to giggle, and always happy with a contagious smile. He attended Tiebreaker Elementary, Sandcreek Middle School, and Black Canyon Middle School, all in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This year, he started his Junior year at Thunder Ridge High School where he excelled academically and made a huge impact on his friends, coaches, and teachers. One of Dawson’s superpowers was bringing people together. His friends were an integral part of his life, and he loved being with them and finding new adventures every day. Dawson was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He proclaimed his faith strongly through his example.

Dawson’s extended family also played a significant role in shaping him. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing with his dad, Grandpa Wayne, uncles, brothers, and many close cousins. He also shared a special relationship with his cousins as a confidant and true friend. He was a leader, setting trends with his great hair, kickin’ shoes, and extensive hat collection. As a ‘foodie’ he appreciated good sushi with his mom, a thick steak with his dad, all of Reagan’s left overs, and always the tallest ice cream cones with his brothers.

Everyone loves ‘Daws’ so much, and his influence will never be forgotten. His radiant smile was genuine, as he delighted in his testimony of Jesus Christ, and he encouraged others to find their strength in doing good things, attending the temple, and serving others. Dawson will live on in his friends and family through their new motto, “Do it for Dawson.”

Dawson is survived by his parents, J’dee and Natalie Grover; siblings, Reagan (Anson) Youngberg, Dylan, and Jagger; grandparents, Wayne and Vicki Grover, Gerry Allen; uncles and aunts, Matt and Amy Leatham, Cody and Emily Petersen, Eli and Laura Grover, Luke and Emily Grover, Hank and Lacy Grover, Lena and Todd Permann, Ty and Pam Fox, and Kellin and Megan Walker; cousins, Hayden and Jlynn, Lexy and Braedon, Skye and Blake, Jace and Tay, Keagan, Dayton, Carson, Krew, Gabby, Daisy, Brynlee, Eliza, Bodee, Creeden, Payton, Tyce, Zeke, Gunner, Cruz, Canyon, Millie, Isaiah, Jamo, Liv, Brooks, Ethan, Lilly, Wyatt, Xander, Jette, Brady, and Ryden.
