Dawnaline Yordis Wilding Jackson Bybee Decker, 79, died on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at her home of cardiac arrest as a result of chronic lung disease. Dawnaline was born on February 10, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to David DeWayne Wilding and Yordis Ida Marie Holmstrom Wilding, the first of four children. Dawnaline and her parents lived in the Medicine Lodge area for three years before moving to Rexburg, Idaho, where Dawnaline spent her youth. She graduated from Madison High School in 1949 as the Senior Class President, was an accomplished musician and was active in the LDS church. Dawnaline married George Wellington Jackson, Sr., in 1949 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They lived in the New Sweden area of Idaho Falls where George was a farmer and Dawnaline was a home maker. They gave life to three beautiful children – Jack in 1950, Dawnie in 1953, and Jim in 1956. Dawnaline was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts for many years. Dawnaline and George were divorced in 1967. For the majority of her professional career Dawnaline worked for the State of Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, first as an Eligibility Examiner and then as a Supervisor. She retired in 1986. Dawnaline married the love of her life, Edward L. “Buck” Bybee, in 1973 in Idaho Falls. Along with Buck came six children - David Bybee, Diane Bybee Albertson, Paul Bybee, LaDawn Bybee Crumley, Cheri Bybee Wilson and Mark Bybee. Dawnaline and Buck celebrated life together spending many weeks fishing from the boat on Henry’s Lake and vacationing in their motor home. Dawnaline was widowed when Buck died of pancreatic cancer in 1988. Dawnaline and Richard W. “Dick” Decker were married in 1990. Dick brought along three grown children – Chuck, Dee and Roxie Decker. Dawnaline and Dick lived comfortably outside of Idaho Falls. Dawnaline was widowed again in 1995 when Dick died of lung cancer. In 1996, Dawnaline moved to her new town house on Ammon Road where she lived until the time of her death. For her entire life Dawnaline loved to collect pink Depression glass and antique furniture and her collection was extensive. She also loved to read and give treats to her dog, Susie. Dawnaline also enjoyed visiting with her cousins, Flo Potter and Bonnie Atkinson, and she cherished their life-long relationship deeply. Dawnaline was also very proud of the fact that all three of her children served in the military especially since her father served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Dawnaline suffered from multiple sclerosis and routinely needed help around her home. The family wants to thank all of “Mom’s Gals”, also known by the family as the “Absolute Angels”, from Absolute Home Health Care for their kindness, loving care and support and for making Mom’s last few years easier to enjoy. The family want to give special thanks to Rita Crane for being one of Mom and Susie’s best friends and to Debbie Lovell for her selfless sacrifice during Mom’s greatest time of need. Surviving are her children, George W. “Jack” Jackson, Jr. (Belinda Eastman) of San Felipe, Baja California, Dawnie K. Jackson Baldo (Bruce) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and James M. “Jim” Jackson (Jyl) of Idaho Falls. Also surviving are eight step children, Diane L. Bybee Albertson (Dan), Paul E. Bybee (Lynn), Charles A. “Chuck” Decker (Terresa), LaDawn Bybee Crumley (Gary), Cheri Bybee Wilson and Mark Bybee (Julie) all of Idaho Falls, Edith L. “Dee” Decker of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Roxanne S. “Roxie” Decker of Boise, Idaho. Dawnaline is also survived by two brothers, George D. Wilding (Ruth Ann) of Roy, Utah, and David G. “Jerry” Wilding (Della) of Gooding, Idaho, and thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Dawnaline was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kay Wilding Jensen and step son David M. Bybee in addition to those previously named. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 455 W. Sunnyside Road in Idaho Falls. Pastor Larry Cudmore will be officiating. The family will meet with friends from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will be from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at the Sugar City Cemetery, located east of Rexburg, Idaho. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
