David Nole Tillitt passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024, surrounded by his family. David faced a courageous two-year battle with cancer, demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience throughout his journey. Despite the challenges, he remained positive and hopeful, inspiring those around him with his unwavering spirit. Born on September 24, 1939, David lived a life full of love and dedication.

David was a devoted husband to Dixie Lee Tillitt (married for 63 years) and a loving father to Doug (Donalee), Dana (Deceased) & Drew (Keiko). He was also a cherished grandfather to Ryan (Julie), Luke (Mellisa), Kenzo & Naya. Equally loved by his great grandchildren Arena, Kelsey, Jacob, Isaac & Juniper. His family was his pride and joy, and he always put them first in everything he did.

David was known for his kindness and generosity. He was not one to spend much on himself, but loved supporting family and friends in their ambitions, no matter the cost. His warm smile and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.

David graduated from Montana State with a degree in Physics. He then collected a Masters degree in Nuclear Science and an MBA from the University of Idaho. In his professional life, David was a dedicated research scientist, known for his hard work and integrity. In his 40 years of work, he only missed one day, which he was very proud of. Throughout his career he made significant contributions to his field and was respected by his colleagues and peers.

David's passion for woodworking was evident in every piece he created. His intricate designs and flawless craftsmanship turned simple pieces of wood into stunning works of art. David's furniture and carvings were not only beautiful but also functional, bringing joy and utility to countless relatives' homes. David's legacy lives on through the many pieces he created, each one a testament to his skill and artistry.

David was known for his exceptional skills with computers. His passion for technology was evident in everything he did, from troubleshooting complex issues to helping friends and family with their tech needs. David's expertise and willingness to share his knowledge made him a valuable figure in his community.

David was a man of many talents, one of which was his keen interest in finance. He spent countless hours studying market trends, investment strategies, and financial planning. David's passion for finance was not just a hobby but a way he connected with others, always eager to share his insights and help friends and family make informed financial decisions. His legacy of financial wisdom and generosity will be cherished by all who knew him.

David  was a dedicated athlete during his high school years, excelling in various sports and earning the admiration of his peers and coaches. His passion for physical activity continued throughout his life, finding joy and relaxation in golf and other recreational pursuits. David's love for the game and his active lifestyle were a testament to his enduring spirit and zest for life.

David was an avid traveler who cherished exploring the world and hiking with his wife and relatives. Together, they embarked on unforgettable journeys. Among the most notable were Hawaii, Canada, Belize, Guatemala, New Zealand and Peru with breath-taking hikes at Mt. Tongariro, Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands, as well as Angel's Landing back home. These adventures were filled with breathtaking landscapes, unique wildlife, and cherished memories.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2071 12th Street, where family and friends will gather to celebrate David's life and legacy. A viewing will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will be in Forsyth Cemetery in Forsyth, Montana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hope Lutheran Church/School in David's memory.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible Nuclear Care Partners nurses and all the hospice nurses who provided compassionate care during David's final days. A special thank you to Mary, whose kindness, dedication, and gentle presence brought comfort to David and our entire family during this difficult time. Your unwavering support and care have meant more to us than words can express. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

David  Nole Tillitt's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude.

David's faith was strong and he felt comfort in knowing that he would soon participate in The Great Feast. Rest in the Lord's loving arms, David. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
