David Kyle Thueson, 60, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away May 24, 2014, at Pebble Beach Campground near Blackfoot Reservoir of natural causes.
David was born July 2, 1953, in Idaho Falls to Kyle Paul Thueson and Elsbeth Emma Koenig. His family moved to New York state in 1954. In 1965, his family returned to Coltman, Idaho, where he worked on the farm with his father and grandfather. He attended Bonneville High School through the 10th grade, and at age 17, enlisted in the US Marines.
On, April 5, 1973, he married Gloria Jean Furrows in Roberts, Idaho. They later divorced in 1993. They had four children; David, Brandon, Gabriel, and Amy. Dave and Gloria lived in Roberts, Idaho Falls, Terreton, Boise, and Kuna, where he worked various jobs and made many wonderful memories with his family. Dave worked for Dicks Electric Motor Repair in Roberts, Linderman Manufacturing making digger chain and farming in Terreton. He built and designed the machine for manufacturing chain for self unloading truck beds at Lindeman Farm in Boise. He got a job with Christensen Electric and A&R Metal Works, which brought he and his family back to Idaho Falls. Dave started Video Inventory Systems in 1989. Dave was a handyman and put his skills to work. He was a hard worker, and made a living doing remodels and home repair. He always took any job necessary to provide for his family. In 1995, he met Kathleen Hausman, and they have made a great life together. Kit was his best friend and companion the remainder of his life.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although he was not active, he always supported his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, dirt bike riding, bowling, and gardening. Dave enjoyed the outdoors, and everything it had to offer. Dave could fix and build anything. He was mechanically inclined and creative. He enjoyed making things out of wood, leather, and metal, and could wire an entire house. He loved to go for drives with anyone that could go. He most enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
David is survived by his children; David (Terra) Thueson of Idaho Falls, ID, Gabriel (Stefanie) Thueson of Layton, UT, and Amy (Andy) Andersen of Clearfield, UT; his girlfriend, Kathleen Hausman; his sisters, Linda (Brad) Tillotson of Bountiful, UT, Brenda (Shelly) Prows of St. Michaels, AZ, Debbie (Darcy) Tesch of Umatilla, OR, and Colleen (Scott) Fisher of Pleasant Hill, OR; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon; his father and mother, Kyle and Elsbeth Thueson; and his brother, Mike Thueson.
Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Burton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the David Thueson Memorial Fund at any Zion’s Bank Branch.
