David E. Rainsdon - 08/19/2001 David E. Rainsdon - 08/19/2001 DAVID E. RAINSDON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- David Ernest Rainsdon, age 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away August 17, 2001, at Sandy Regional Medical Center in Sandy, Utah, following hip surgery. He was born September 15, 1911, at Taylor, Idaho, the son of Francis Alfred Rainsdon and Emily Elisabeth Payne Rainsdon. He married Clara Mecham March 17, 1935. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple and shared 65 years together. David grew up on a farm in Taylor and completed eight years of school. He worked on the family farm and later at the U & I Sugar Factory in Lincoln. He was greatly respected for his skill and ability, largely self-taught, with the factory's various instruments. Next to the cabin at Palisades that he built, his great joy in life was fishing and snowmobiling with his close friends and family. He is survived by his wife Clara Mecham Rainsdon and five daughters Billie Rae Lawrence, Patty Jo Rowley, Marilynn Kay Rainsdon, Karen Marie Reed, who reside in Salt Lake City, Utah and Barbara Ann Knudsen of Seattle, Washington; Sons-in-law Dick Lawrence, Evan Rowley and Randy Knudsen; 22 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 21st, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Ave, Idaho Falls. Viewing will be held Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday, both at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls.
