David Russell Pilkington passed away January 7th, 2017, at his home in Idaho Falls of natural causes. He was born October 20, 1952 in Logan, Utah, to Farrell and Joan Pilkington.
Dave began his schooling in Japan where his dad was stationed with the Air Force. The family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, where he continued in elementary school. They then lived in Tremonton, Utah, for several years before returning to live in Blackfoot where he graduated from high school.
Dave was married twice, first to Melodee Covington Tovey, and later to Renee Ditto Criswell. Both ended in divorce.
Dave was an avid golfer and was happiest when he was on the golf course. He also loved to fish and be outdoors, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He worked in the construction field for several years before receiving training as a radiation safety technician. He spent many years working at various nuclear facilities around the country. His most recent employment was with the INL. He lived in Idaho Falls for many years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by a son, Jeremy (Molly) Tovey; grandchildren, Caleb and Alia Tovey all of Portland, Oregon; his father, W. Farrell Pilkington of Idaho Falls, Idaho; siblings, Sue (Joe) Velasquez of Rigby, Idaho; Nancy (Doug) Dance of Midway, Utah; Paul Pilkington of Ogden, Utah; Ann (Lyndon) Oswald of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Darby Pilkington, of Roy, Utah; friend Debbie Lovell, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan B. Pilkington.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10th, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, followed by burial in Ammon Cemetery.
